![]() Radio Tracey - A Magnificent Report.
The small crew on board Nailsworth's very own pirate radio ship, 'Radio Tracy' were startled to find Inspector Oldmarket and his merry men trying to find a way on board in the early hours of Sunday morning. The top secret raid code named 'fairy cake' had been on the drawing board for the last six months. Radio Tracy being moored out in the very deepest part of the stream behind the bus station was proving to be a difficult raid. Mr Oldmarkets men were all equipped with the best wellies that the ironmongers could supply, but the water, up to 12" deep in some places was going over the tops. The alarmed 'pirates' lept into action and started to pelt the officers with anything that they could lay their hands on, which tended to be nothing more than empty beer cans and girlie mags. The battle went on for at least twenty five and a half minutes, with both sides taking casulaties. Inspector Oldmarket suffered a fractured arm when an old box of 'LuLu' LP's caught him dead centre. He was later rushed off to Stroud Accident unit for a plaster cast to be fitted.
"Best bit of agro I've had in years", said the stations main DJ, Mike, I can talk about nothing for hours and hours on end Jones. "They gave us a bit of a shock at first, turning up first thing like that, but I think we got away with it this time. Shame about the LuLu LP's" though.
