Not a lot has been happening at the Longfords Mill site over the past year.

Most of the activity has taken place on the stretch of land opposite the Weighbridge pub where new housing has been put up, presumably to generate some cash to proceed with the main mill conversion.

There seems to be a little more activity going on at the mill site recently so I have taken a few photographs of it.

The top photo shows the mill building covered with scaffolding and the tiles and windows from the roof have been removed.

Following this are two photographs of the new watercourse that was previously a very fast flowing narrow channel of white water. This has been turned into a noisy concrete waterfall, which is presumably safer to fall into or maybe it's just more scenic. The lake is Longfords water, built to provide power for the mill, while the grassed area is the dam that holds it all back. The building at the end of the dam is a private house.

In the fourth photograph, the section to the left was where the old red brick loom sheds on stilts were built. These were pulled down last year but little has changed here this year. The right section shows a digger and the two small black blobs in front of it are a couple of large mains electricity transformers, presumably removed from inside the building somewhere.

The last picture shows a view of the building from the lakeside, and was taken from what seems to be a new access road to nowhere. Probably to new housing, not yet built.
