For all those living in the area you won't have failed to notice the shining light on the horizon that is the rebuilt Hill Paul building. Although not quite finished yet, the building is looking much better than it did a few years ago when it was basically falling down due to the ingress of rain. A petition was started to save the building and the required money was raised to start the work on turning the building into flats. A penthouse flat has been built on top of the existing structure and this has large white illuminated panels around the top. The building is extensively illuminated at night and actually looks rather good. I'm not sure that the external illumination will be permanent as this will be generating a rather large electricity bill for the tennents. You would also be dazzled everytime you looked down out of a window! The top photograph clearly shows the new penthouse added to the top of the building (everything above the clock) while the following two images show the building at night. The last photograph shows the building just after Stroud's building monster had been on the rampage and eaten a large chunk out of the corner of the building.
