The island of Horsley made the local headlines this week, when the Nailsworth-Horsley ferry suffered a total engine failure.

The ferry was adrift for more that two hours while the rescue services tried to attach a line. A disgruntled employee of the ferry service admitted putting sugar in the fuel line, causing £1,239 worth of damage.

The ferry service will be resumed by next week. In the meantime, Horsley is having food delivered by helecopter.
