The entrance to the dam is blocked with fencing and tracked diggers. Pity really, I was going to go a take a picture of the dam...

The Nailsworth Chronicle has an exclusive report on Dam Busting activity taking place in Woodchester Park. Having been aware for some time that a lot of large aircraft were flying over the area I decided it was time to find out exactly what was going on.

I can reveal that within the grounds of the park some sinister 'Dam Busting' is taking place. While this has absolutely nothing to do with low flying aircraft, I just added that to pad out the story, a large amount of activity is taking place on the middle dam.

This according to the sign (we really do our homework on the Chronicle), is in accordance with the reservoirs act of 1856 (probably) and while the sign dosen't go into specific details it does say that some footpaths, specifically the red and orange waymarked ones are currently closed around the centre lake due to the possibility of getting run over by large vehicles. Or another way to read it is 'we don't want you in the way'. Footpath diversions are in place.
