Major, and I mean major traffic chaos broke out today, Monday when someone decided it would be a good idea to resurface the Avening road. Reports came flooding in, with claims of 'forty minutes from Stroud to Nailsworth'. I know this, because I make the claim. Local radio reported it, but didn't know what was causing it... This is all quite impressive really, as the 'W' is closed, and the Avening road is where the diverted traffic is sent!! Anyway, this work look's set to continue for a while as sections of the Avening road are coned off around drain covers, with long sections of the road's top layer removed.
