An application has been received which will have a major impact on the town if it gets the green light. It has been submitted by an undisclosed major leisure corporation and is as follows:

Proposed cable car to take visitors from the bottom of the Nailsworth valley, to the summit of Minchinhampton Common. The cars will be of a size to enable six full size adults to reach Minchinhampton in comfort. A coffee bar and leisure complex is proposed at both the cable ends, along with a bus service to take the intrepid explorers to where they wish to go next. It is proposed to power the cable car from the Nailsworth stream, once the dam has been built. The completion date for this project is the year 2000. The local 'Art School' has been given the task of producing an impression of what it will look like. Here it is. Actually I drew it, that's why it's not very good.
