A jumper doing what comes naturally when you find yourself at the top of a very high crane.

The second international bungee jump took place today in Nailsworth, organised by The Cross pub.

Flown in from around the world, which included such strange places as Svalbard the competing jumpers spent an enjoyable couple of hours hanging around on the end of a piece of elastic.

Taking place in one of the more shall we say 'un-scenic' parts of the town (behind the shops near the bus station) the event looked reasonably well attended.

For a couple of quid you could go for a ride in the 'cage' and see a most spectacular view of the town from a great height. The Chronicle reporter however refused this chance of a lifetime claiming that he had inadequate insurance cover.

Frankly, he was just plain scared.
