Well just to prove that Nailsworth really is full of mad people, the 'Grand May Bungee Jump' was carried out (actually this was the first ever bungee jump in Nailsworth, so far as I know).

Organised by the Cross Pub to raise money for charity, the brave Nailsworthians took their chances by jumping out of a steel basket suspended from a large white crane, with the words 'Bungee' painted on it.

This was nothing more than a psychological trick, to instil a sense of security into the jumpers. The crane owners, when they get it back home, peel off the label to reveal the words, 'Joes Crane Hire'. Still it obviously worked, as the basket went up and down more often then the elevator's in the Empire State Building.

All the jumpers failed the main task, that of collecting a chicken curry from the roof of the chinese takeway, directly below. Anyway, thanks to Nailsworth Tacky Video Productions Inc (NTVPI) I have a video of the whole event (well a minute and a small bit actually) for your perusal. It's about 1.3MB and is in real player format. Obviously for such demanding work with the telephoto lens I had to use my best black tripod. Here is a link to the video...
