The above photograph shows the small hole in the Clothiers Car Park, Stroud.

A major breakthrough in communications is about to hit Nailsworth as we have finally reached the BT level of interest for upgrading the exchange to broadband.

The date given for this is the 28th of June 03. This target was going to take a while to reach but for the sterling efforts of a few Nailsworthians who vigorously campaigned to get the required numbers to sign up. I even spotted a very long banner strapped to the side of a road sign, although it vanished when I went to photograph it.

Anyway, I don't have a photograph to show you of 'broadband' as its more a service than a 'thing'. Instead, I have uploaded a picture of the rather huge hole in the Clothiers car park in Stroud.

This has nothing to do with communications and is rather off topic, but it's worth a mention. It's part of a sewer upgrade. I believe it will hold 88,000 gallons of the stuff and another similar one is being built into the bank of the A46 between Nailsworth and Inchbrook. Yummy.
