![]() New Airline is Launched - A full report. April 11th 2002
Using a fleet of six fully refurbished 737 short haul aircraft and a 747 Jumbo the the new airline simply called 'NFLY', is set to take on the major carriers.
With example flights such as Nailsworth to Paris return for only £15.25 and return flights to Athens from only £27.40 the airline looks set to be a winner. Bums on Seats, says NFLY's new chairman Scott Brenton is the way to profitability. The first seats are the cheapest, then as the plane fills up the cost per seat will start to rise in line with demand.
To increase revenue certain items will be offered to the passengers such as low cost bank loans and mortgages (Nailsworth International Bank has a particularly good offer on at the moment), along with all the other usual items that passengers have foisted upon them during a flight, most of which you don't want, need or do you any good. Scott was keen to stress that people would have the option to say no to anything offered to them that they were not interested in.
A full advertising campaign is about to kick off which includes television and radio. Booking a flight could not be eaiser because the whole booking process can be done on the Internet. A limo service will ferry passengers from the bus station to Nailsworth International free of charge for a 'more relaxed check in experience'. In addition, a fleet of black Range Rovers with blacked out windows and running boards will be available for those media stars that often pop into Nailsworth for a nights gambling in the members only Casino, at Shortwood.
NFLY, like all airlines will have to follow the strict guidlines on low flying over the town, and must also obey the no flying after 10pm rule.
